Son Tay Port was granted a business registration certificate by the Department of Planning and Investment under Ha Tay River Transport Company.
Ha Tay Provincial People's Committee issued Decision no. 594/QD-UBND on renaming Ha Tay River Transport Company to Ha Tay Port Company.

Hanoi People's Committee issued Decision no. 3202/QD-UBND on renaming the State-owned enterprise Ha Tay Port Company into Hong Ha Port Joint Stock Company.
The name was officially changed to Son Tay Port Joint Stock Company according to the business registration certificate issued by the Hanoi Department of Planning and Investment on November 30, 2018.
